Earlier this week, we brought you the story of how Dîner en Blanc Philly has instituted a new charity element to help alleviate stress for six of some 43,000 public-dining aspirants on the wait list for the awesome event.
Today, we can report that the lucky sestet behind the second bid in the online auction – it started at $600 and ended at $610 – will be on hand for what could be the Biggest! Dîner! en! Blanc! in! American! History!!!
Congratulations to the winners, to organizers of the August 17 event and the Fairmount Park Conservancy to which the proceeds will be donated. Nothing is more present than helping those in need.
That's right, not even lighting sparklers while taking over a public space to eat dinner, even if the proceeds didn't quite catch up to the monies raised by people taking pictures with Spike Eskin's dog at the Rights to Ricky Sanchez NBA Draft Party for it's the thought (and generosity of heart and spirit) that matters.
