An Upper Providence man is recovering from injuries after he was reportedly shot in apparent road rage incident on Wednesday night, state police said.
The victim, a 63-year-old man, was shot while driving home from work around 9:30 p.m. on Route 309 northbound in Whitemarsh Township, according to NBC10.
The driver told investigators he had shifted lanes from left to right to get off at an exit. As he was passed on the right shoulder by a maroon sedan, he heard a gunshot and his passenger side window shattered.
When the driver noticed a burning sensation in his arm, he realized he had been shot and pulled over at the Fort Washington exit to call for help. He was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators described the sedan as an older "box-like" model with New Jersey plates and said there may have been two people in the car at the time.
