Which Eagles are deserving of the Pro Bowl?

The Pro Bowl is kind of a joke. Deserving players often don't make it while wildly undeserving players often do. Oh, and the game itself is unwatchable. Still, let's take a minute to recognize the players who are deserving of Pro Bowl accolades with three games to go.

DE Fletcher Cox

Cox is a no-brainer. Not only should he be a clear Pro Bowl shoe-in, he's worthy of first team All Pro honors. Cox's stats are good (50 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 3 FF, 2 FR), but certainly not eye-popping. However, there may not be a more disruptive interior defensive lineman in the game this season, barring maybe J.J. Watt. Over the last two weeks, we've shown how disruptive Cox was against the Patriots, and then against the Bills. We also showed how he wrecked the game against the Saints earlier in the season. Cox has never made a Pro Bowl, which is a joke. If he doesn't make it this year, just cancel it.

S Malcolm Jenkins

Jenkins has been tremendous this season, especially considering that he has more difficult responsibilities than most safeties around the league. For example, watch tonight as he'll often be lined up man-to-man against Larry Fitzgerald or whatever talented WR the Cardinals stick in the slot. On the season, Jenkins has 87 tackles, 3 FF, 1 FR, 2 INT, and a 99 yard INT return of Tom Brady that swung at least 10 points in the Eagles' favor.

PR/RB Darren Sproles

Whenever opposing teams have been dumb enough to punt to Sproles, he has made them pay. For the second straight year, Sproles has two punt return touchdowns. Without his punt return TD against the Jets, the Eagles probably don't win that game. Against the Patriots, Sproles helped put the game out of reach. He is a legitimate difference maker who often factors in heavily to the overall results of games with enormous plays.

Honorable mentions: Jordan Hicks was well on his way to a Pro Bowl berth before he got hurt, and Donnie Jones is having a good year, but I'd be a liar if I claimed to evaluate 31 other punters. The same concept applies to special teams aces like Chris Maragos and Bryan Braman.
