Every year, since 1810, Oktoberfest has been celebrated in Munich, Germany, in mid-to-late September. People from all over the world flock to the festival to drink Oktoberfest beer and participate in Bavarian culture.
Of course, not everyone can take a trip to Germany, so many places throw their own celebrations with German food, music and beer.

McGillin's Monthlong Oktoberfest
This year, McGillin's created its own Oktoberfest beer, which is available during its monthlong celebration. Food specials and beer specials through September are also Oktoberfest-themed.
On Oct. 1, McGillin's joins the Midtown Village Fall Festival for a final Oktoberfest celebration.

Frankford Hall's Oktoberfest
Frankford Hall's Oktoberfest returns on Sept. 17 to Frankford Avenue in Fishtown. The beer garden and its neighbor Fette Sau have teamed up for the all-day block party.

South Street Oktoberfest 2016
On Sept. 17, the eighth annual South Street Oktoberfest will begin at noon, outside the restaurant Brauhaus Schmitz. A tent will be set up for attendees to eat and drink German food and beer, no matter the weather.

Alla Spina Oktoberfest
Alla Spina will be hosting a celebration for Oktoberfest featuring a tap takeover by Victory Brewery and German street food.

Ardmore Oktoberfest
In downtown Ardmore, there will be German beer, food and music from 2-8 p.m. on Sept. 24.
Plus, the event is family-friendly. Kids can decorate cookies, jump in the bouncy house or get their faces painted.

UpToberfest
The outdoor beer garden will offer keepsake one-liter boot steins for attendees to drink their beer from during the festival. On tap will be a selection of local and imported brews. There will also be German food, games and live music.

International House Oktoberfest
International House Philadelphia's event will feature authentic German cuisine by Wursthaus Schmitz, a sampling of German beers, music by Polkadelphia and dancing.
Admission includes one drink ticket for a German beer or non-alcoholic beverage.

Sky Garten Oktoberfest
Beginning Sept. 28 and ending Oct. 1, Sky Garten will serve traditional German fare. There will be classic bratwurst, potato pancakes, roast pork sandwiches and Bavarian-style pretzels. On tap, there will be Brauhaus Schmitz Festbier, Hofbrau Marzen, Konig Ludwig Weissbier and Double Nickel Vienna Lager.

Roxborough's family-friendly Oktoberfest will take place on Oct. 1. The festival features a home brew competition, craft beer, food trucks, live entertainment and games.
The festival is free to attend, but there are also VIP area tickets available for purchase.

Grumblefest
Grumblethorpe, the historic home in Germantown, invites the public to celebrate Oktoberfest on its grounds. The house was home to John Wister and his family, who had German heritage.
During the festival, there will be German foods, family-friendly activities and tours of the house.

Ambler Oktoberfest
2016 marks the 25th Annual Ambler Oktoberfest. There will be more than 90 vendors and 10 food trucks lining Butler Avenue and its side streets on Oct. 1.
Plus, there will be kids rides, a beer garden and musical performances.

5th Annual King of Prussia Beerfest Royale
Beerfest Royale will offer 100 craft and international beers, inspired dishes from King of Prussia restaurants and live music on multiple stages.
First, there is the Donnerstag Happy Hour on Oct. 6. Under outdoor tents at the King of Prussia Mall, restaurants and breweries will be offering samples to attendees. Tickets are $75 per person.
Then, on Oct. 8, beer-lovers can drink under the tents during two different festival sessions. Tickets start at $50.

5th Annual Oktoberfest Live!
Xfinity Live! will once again host a massive beer festival in celebration of Oktoberfest. There will be indoor, outdoor and covered beer gardens, along with German Oktoberfest-style beer tents. More than 250 craft beers from more than 100 breweries will be available to sample.
Food trucks and live music will also be on-site.
