Job seekers looking for summer work may not need to venture much further than their local Wawa, where they might end up spending the equivalent of a part-time schedule, anyway.

The beloved convenience store chain announced this week that it will hire 5,000 employees across nearly all of its 700 locations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Florida, according to The Philadelphia Business Journal.

The company is primarily seeking store associates, and while many of the positions will be seasonal, Wawa talent acquisition manager Dave Filano said the store is interested in candidates who want to launch a new career there. Based in the Wawa area of Chester Heights in Delaware County, the company currently employs about 26,000 associates.

About 100 of Wawa's locations will host open houses for prospective applicants. The dates and times for these events will be advertised at the stores.

Those interested in exploring all opportunities at Wawa can do so at the company's Careers page.
