Back in January, Reebok revealed that it would be releasing an entire sneaker line dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the iconic "Question Mid," worn by recent Hall of Fame inductee Allen Iverson during his rookie season with the Sixers.
To commemorate the milestone, Reebok announced that it will pump out 20 new Iverson-themed kicks, starting with the "Prototype," an original mock-up for the "Question Mid" that came out in February for a price of $200.
Next up? None other than the "Question Mid Practice," a glorious tribute to the media spectacle Iverson created after the Sixers got bounced from the playoffs by the Celtics in 2002. Details surrounding the event, including Iverson's recent loss of a close friend and the possibility that he was drunk at the time, are spelled out in Ken Babb's book on the NBA sensation. For the majority of fans, it was simply one of the most epic moments in the interwoven history of sports and journalism — totally worthy of a shoe, at the very least.
Reebok got Iverson to sit down and talk about his rant in promo for the new sneaker, whose colors and seam stitching pay homage to the Boston Red Sox hat and black du-rag Iverson wore that night. Undoubtedly, the best part is that bits of the "practice rant" transcript are written on the insoles.
The "Question Mid Practice" goes on sale Friday at Reebok Classic retailers. You can check out more photos over at Sneaker News.
