A New Jersey bus driver has reportedly been fired after he made a brazen pass on the road Wednesday afternoon in the area of Lakewood in northern Ocean County.

According to the Toms River Patch, Lyndhurst resident Stephen O'Conner captured a video of the bus swerving around a FedEx truck and into opposing traffic in order to pass it, though it remains unclear whether there were any children aboard the vehicle.

O'Conner followed the bus along Airport Road, near an on-ramp to the Garden State Parkway, in order to monitor its erratic driver as it continued onto the Parkway.

After posting the photo to Facebook, outrage ensued and the markings on the bus, labeled Jay's Bus Service, were investigated by the hyperlocal news outlet.

An employee at Jay's Bus Service told Patch that the driver of the bus had been relieved of his duties.

FedEx, in a statement, said it takes safety very seriously and is looking into what may have transpired between the two vehicles. O'Conner said the bus made several attempts to pass the FedEx truck before a sharp motion led the bus to the left across the lane division.

O'Connor said the rate of speed during the incident ranged between 18 and 25 mph.
