One man in stable condition after shooting, police say

Police are seeking assistance in identifying two men who, law enforcement officials say, were involved in a broad daylight shooting in West Philly on Friday, Sept. 25.

Philadelphia police are hoping the public can help identify two men wanted after a broad daylight shooting in West Philly.

On Tuesday, police released surveillance footage of the shooting, which occoured at about 1:14 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, near 52nd and Irving streets.

According to police, officers in the 18th District responding to the shooting found an injured 19-year-old man on the second floor of an apartment building on the 5000 block of Locust St. suffering from a gunshot wound to his buttocks.

Police said that he was transported to Presbyterian Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

In surveillance video that was taken that day along the 5200 block of Irving St., two males can be seen running down the street, with one of the males firing a handgun at something off-camera, police said.

Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the two men.

According to police, the suspected gunman is described as a black male in his early 20s and was wearing a black or dark-colored shirt with a design on the front at the time of the shooting. The other individual wanted in connection with this crime, police said, is a black male, also suspected to be in his early 20s, and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt as seen in the video.
