WATCH: Man forces open ATM in Carroll Park restaurant, police say

Philadelphia police are seeking the public's help identifying this man, who they say broke into a Carroll Park restaurant and used power tools to break into an ATM and steal its contents.

Philadelphia police are seeking the public's help identifying a man they say broke into Tasties Restaurant in Carroll Park and used a power tool to break open an ATM and steal the cash inside. 

According to police, on Oct. 12, at about 4:29 a.m., surveillance footage shows a man gaining entry to Tasties Restaurant at 1214 N. 52nd St. after forcing open a rear door.

After he got inside, police say the man forced open an ATM and took an unknown amount of money and the cash register. 

Police say he can be seen on the video running a power cord through the building, and sparks fly off camera as authorities say he breaks into the ATM using a power tool.

Police say after taking an undetermined amount of money from both the ATM and cash register, the suspect fled the area in an unknown direction.

Law enforcement officials describe the suspect as a black male who was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a baseball hat at the time of the incident.
