It’s amazing how bad the Flyers have been in shootouts over time, especially considering that Claude Giroux has been on the team since the 2008-09 season.
The captain has scored some doozies, like this one and this one and this one.
Maybe this year will be different for the Flyers in the all-important skills competition. The Orange and Black are now 2-0 in shootouts after defeating the New York Islanders 3-2 on the terrible ice at Barclays Center tonight. The only goal in this particular shootout was this beaut by Giroux:
Dear lord.
The Flyers, who again came from behind (this time, thanks to a tying goal with 58 seconds left from Matt Read), now sit at 6-5-1 on the season.
