Waffles & Wedges, the Center City joint serving up Belgian waffles and potato wedges topped with sweet and savory goodies, opened up just eight months ago. But, the kitschy combo must be doing well, as the owners, Andrea Capecci and Laura Judy, are spinning the business into a food truck.
In an effort to enhance their buzzing catering work, the truck, simply called Waffles, will bring their signature flavor combos to the Philly area. But this isn't the first time Capecci and Judy have been behind the wheel of a mobile vendor: Before Waffles & Wedges existed, the pair opened Pbon's Fresh Phood of Philly truck to serve pretzel roll sandwiches, sliders and fries to the city.
MORE WAFFLES: Five great waffle spots in the Philly area
As you may have guessed from the truck's name, Waffles will be serving just the scratch-made Belgian waffles - no wedges. But, they'll still have the sweet and savory toppings and gluten-free options. So, if you're looking to have a waffle-fied party, calling in their service is a sure bet.
Capecci and Judy say they hope the new truck will be rolling down Philly streets in late February. Until then, you can try their wares at 1511 Pine St.
