A man in eastern New Mexico has been arrested after a July 4 incident in which he allegedly stole a Curry County sheriff deputy's car while running around naked.

In the video below, the undressed man, identified as 37-year-old Jesus Terango, is seen in the distance disregarding orders from an officer who has left his vehicle unlocked in the street. Terango tells the officer that he is poisoned, and the officer asks how so, but without answering, Terango jumps into the car and speeds away.
According to the Associated Press, deputies said they had Terango seated before he got up again and started running around in traffic. After he took off in the vehicle, he was arrested by another deputy after he pulled into a hospital parking lot.
Terango is being held on $12,000 bail and faces several charges including unlawful vehicle theft and aggravated fleeing.
