CBS3 reporter Jan Carabeo posted video of the animal roaming Spring Garden Street near Columbus Boulevard with police on its tail. Carabeo reports the horse was eventually captured around Girard Avenue and Richmond Street.

This isn't the first time in recent years Philadelphians were caught off guard by an animal that doesn't belong in an urban setting. A brief recap:
• In November 2016, a bull escaped a Northeast Philly slaughterhouse and was seen grazing in Old City before the Pennsylvania Game Commission shot and killed the animal.
• A year earlier, two zebras escaped a West Philly circus and ran wild before eventually being taken "into custody" by police.
PhillyVoice has reached out to police for additional info on the loose horse and will update this article accordingly.
