A Bucks County homeowner apparently took it into his own hands to apprehend a suspect he allegedly caught trying to break into his parked car near his home in Morrisville.

According to 6ABC, a car chase between the homeowner and the suspect began around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday after the homeowner noticed the alleged attempted theft. At that time, the suspect jumped into a separate car and the homeowner jumped into his car and gave chase, 6ABC reports.

The car chase ended with gunfire at East Bridge and North Pennsylvania Avenues, when the suspect reportedly crashed his car and attempted to flee on foot.

The homeowner pulled out a weapon and shot at the suspect, hitting him in the arm, police told 6ABC. There is no word on how many shots were fired, but 6ABC said the suspect was taken into police custody and transported to an area hospital.

There was also no word on whether the homeowner will be charged. Neither the homeowner nor the suspect have been named, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
