Christina Pirello, the Emmy Award-winning star of public television series "Christina Cooks," is throwing a pop-up lunch event in South Philly on Sunday, April 3.
The event may be happening a few days after April Fools' Day but Pirello has a few tricks up her sleeves -- mainly, picking an unusual partner to create a vegan lunch.
Pirello, a chef focused on a plant-based diet, is teaming up with the owner of Pat’s King of Steaks Frank Olivieri.
The duo co-created a vegan cheesesteak together as part of a feast which includes soup, a trio of sliders, salad and dessert.
Every diner will get to take home a bag of Pirello's vegan chocolate chip cookies, too.
Here's the four-course menu breakdown:
•Spring Split Pea Soup
•Trio of sliders: vegan cheesesteak, mock tuna salad and veggie burger served with onion rings and coleslaw
•Spring Salad
•Carrot cake-pops and chocolate cake-pops
The lunch begins at noon and is $49 per person.
