V Street to serve lunch -- starting today

For your lunching pleasure.

Lunchtime 'Street Sweet': the Ice Cream Churro Sandwich.
V Street/for PhillyVoice
Now you can feel as trendy eating lunch as you do eating dinner.

V Street, a Rittenhouse-located vegan "street food bar" from former Vedge chefs Rich Landau and Kate Jacoby, opened in October with a dinner and dessert menu, and has since updated with an evolving happy hour menu (boasting rad seasonal drink selections like a rye cocktail named the "Louisville Winter"). Starting today, it'll add a lunch menu to the list.

Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., a V Street rep told PhillyVoice.com. On the menu: a yucatan wrap, a Korean fried tempeh reuben and barbecue carrot choripan (see the full listing below). Last week, V Street posted a photo of a tortilla with curried channa, avocado, greens, spicy ketchup and tofu ackee, though it should be clarified that it won't actually be on the menu. (Though you can get it as a dinner option.)

Way back in February 2014, Landau described V Street to Philly.com as a place that's not about play-it-safe menus -- it's a venue for "food warriors," he said. And goodness, he wasn't kidding.
