U.S. News & World Report has released its 2018 pre-emptive rankings for the best U.S. medical schools and graduate programs, and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia ranked as the leading school for the study of pediatrics.
This is the fifth consecutive year the hospital’s pediatrics department, served by physicians from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, has landed the top spot and the 14th consecutive year it's been ranked in the top two.
According to the report, the ranking is a result of peer reviews by deans and faculty members from select medical schools across the nation.
"This ranking is a reflection of the impressive talent among our faculty, trainees, and staff and the tremendous support from the Hospital in creating a remarkable environment for clinical and academic work," Dr. Joseph St. Geme, a physician-in-chief and the pediatrics department chair, said in a statement.
