While Uptown Beer Garden will open at 1735 JFK Boulevard on Thursday, May 19, the grand opening party isn't scheduled until Wednesday, May 25.
The beer garden will feature chef Jonathan Petruce on the new outdoor grill for the summer. He will be creating barbecue and street food favorites like Spanish octopus, Turkish chicken and chimichurri beef skewers. Grilled mexicorn, lobster rolls and sausage with peppers are other menu staples.
At the grand opening, bites off the menu will be complimentary starting at 5 p.m., along with samples of beer and summer cocktails. There will eight beers on tap and signature cocktails will include sangria, Dark n' Stormys, Moscow Mules and frozen margaritas. Three bars will be on-site through the summer.
As a preview of what to expect at the beer garden during Center City District (CCD) Sips in June, there will also be $5 cocktails, $4 wine, $3 beer and half-priced appetizers.
