An unidentified victim, believed to be a man, was found dead in a vehicle that crashed and burst into flames early Wednesday.
The incident occurred at around 2 a.m. Wednesday at Second Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue in North Philadelphia, 6ABC reports.
According to 6ABC, the driver is thought to have lost control of his or her car while driving at an excess speed, causing the car to strike a tree, jump a curb and crash into several street lights and a traffic light.
The car then struck a building and burst into flames, the report said.
According to 6ABC, “police towed the entire vehicle to the medical examiner's office because the victim's body was too badly burned for them to remove it from the car.”
The body was burned beyond recognition, police said.
Items in the car, like a swipe machine, suggest the victim may have been an employee at McDonald's.
The crash remains under investigation.
