Two Philadelphia police officers were injured Wednesday night after another driver collided with their unmarked car in North Philadelphia, CBSPhilly reports.
The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. at B Street and Westmoreland.
According to police, the officers, who were in plain clothes and driving an unmarked car, were responding to reports of shots fired and a possible armed man. Authorities say a 20-year-old driver crashed into their vehicle and then ran off on foot.
He was arrested about four blocks away after a brief struggle. According to authorities, he was drunk and driving with a suspended license.
Both officers were taken to Temple Hospital in stable condition, one with a head injury and the other a broken finger.
The man faces charges of DUI and resisting arrest.
