Two men were hospitalized early Thursday morning after one allegedly stabbed the other in West Oak Lane, NBC10 reports.
The fight started near 67th and Ogontz avenues around 1 a.m.
Police say a 49-year-old man who was stabbed four times left a trail of blood between the scene and a nearby market where he was found.
"Upon police arrival they found a 49-year-old male who had stumbled into a market … this victim was suffering from four stab wounds to his chest and abdomen," Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small told NBC10.
A 56-year man, who showed up at the hospital with a gash to his head, was identified by a witness as the man who stabbed the 49-year-old victim, police say.
"The 49-year-old, before he got stabbed, used a large 2x4, about 7-feet long, and struck the 56-year-old in the head," Small said.
Investigators say they found a 10-inch knife with blood on it in the 56-year-old's car. They believe it was used in the stabbing.
The incident remains under investigation.
