Two men have been charged for allegedly assaulting several people at a Halloween party in Voorhees.
Emirullah Sayin, 22, and Mithat Ceylan, 22, both of Delran, each face two counts of second-degree aggravated assault, two counts of third-degree aggravated assault and one count of second-degree conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Voorhees Police Chief Louis Bordi reported.
Sayin and Ceylan allegedly began punching people after being asked to leave an Oct. 17 party at a residence on the unit block of Horseshoe Drive in Voorhees, officials said. The party was attended by a number of guests in their late teens and early 20s.
Four victims – a 17-year-old male from Gibbsboro, a 19-year-old Berlin man, a 20-year-old Voorhees man and a 20-year-old Voorhees woman – were treated for injuries at a local hospital.
Detectives from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Voorhees Police Department allege they were able to identity Sayin and Ceylan as the alleged attackers based on witness accounts and social media posts.
Sayin was taken into custody Thursday in Delanco, and Ceylan surrendered Nov. 6 to authorities at Voorhees Police headquarters, authorities said. Bail was set at $100,000 cash for each suspect.
