Twitter helps Christie read NY Times editorial urging him to quit campaign

New Jersey governor says he cannot read the editorial because he does not have a subscription

The New York Times editorial board called Thursday for Gov. Chris Christie to exit the presidential race, arguing the Republican is pursuing "nothing more than a vanity project" while New Jersey sits in trouble.

Christie, whose polling numbers are nearly nonexistent, took to Twitter to fire back.

Naturally, the Twittersphere rushed to assist Christie. Jason Linkins, a political reporter for the Huffington Post, passed along parts of the editorial to Christie via 140 character Tweets.

Others, like S.P. Sullivan, a statehouse reporter for New Jersey Advance Media, and Josh Barro, a correspondent for The Upshot, offered Christie instructions on how to bypass the New York Times' paywall.

And finally the New York Times stepped into the fray and provided Christie a link to purchase a subscription.
