The Philadelphia Eagles took care of business at home in week one against the Cleveland Browns, rolling to a comfortable 29-10 victory led by rookie quarterback Carson Wentz and a stout defensive showing.
We all know that the Browns are the Browns.
We've also seen much better-hyped Eagles teams flop against inferior competition in the past. This was an impressive win for Wentz and rookie head coach Doug Pederson, to say nothing of a surrounding cast that did its job to control the flow of the game.
Naturally, fans and league observers took their impressions to Twitter, mostly brightening their outlook of the Eagles' prospects in what figures to be a season we'll all regard as a franchise-altering moment in the years to come. Here's the best of what we saw in our feeds.
I LOVED what I saw from my man @cj_wentz. New bad man coming #EaglesNation

Eagles did work today. Wentz looks like a player, D kept Browns out of end zone (their TD after phantom PI was trash). Only like 6 drops, ha

Yes Carson Wentz had a great game today, but please can we not overreact and say hes already really good. Lets take it game by game friends!

Remember I declared back in May that Carson Wentz will lead Philly to their first championship. I'm sticking by that.

I think the most impressive part of Carson Wentz's day was that he had no turnovers. #EaglesB

Besides the fact that Carson Wentz looked great...it just felt good to see the Eagles actually huddle up again. No more college BS

Really hoping "I wish my team drafted Carson Wentz" isn't the first-week headline from the return of Los Angeles football.

Carson Wentz had a great game. Keep it in perspective. We need about 47 more to know if we have a franchise QB. #Eagles
