The governing board for Pennsylvania's State System of Education voted Thursday to raise tuition at 14 universities despite Governor Tom Wolf's recommendation not to.

As a result of the vote, in-state undergraduate tuition will rise to $7,060 per year, up $240 from the previous year, PennLive reports.

There will also be a $14 hike to the systemwide technology fee, which will now cost $436 per year.

About 100,000 students are expected to enroll in the state system this year, which includes Bloomsburg, California, Cheyney, Clarion, East Stroudsburg, Edinboro, Indiana, Kutztown, Lock Haven, Mansfield, Millersville, Shippensburg, Slippery Rock and West Chester.
