President Donald Trump touted himself and the prime minister of India on Monday for their social media game at a joint news conference.
"I promise to the media, the American people and to the Indian people that Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi and I are world leaders in social media," Trump said outside the White House.
Modi, who was visiting the White House for the first time since Trump's inauguration, has roughly 15,700 tweets to his name and some 31 million followers.
Trump, with nearly 33 million followers, has fired off more than 35,000 tweets since launching his account in 2009.
"We're believers in giving the citizens of our countries the opportunity to hear directly from their elected officials and for us to hear directly from them," Trump said of himself and Modi. "I guess it's worked very well in both cases."
