Treat mom to an afternoon tea party for Mother's Day

Four local venues will host Mother's Day tea parties

Mother's Day is May 8, a time to go all-out to show mom how much you appreciate her. Picking up a thoughtful gift is always a good idea, but most moms just want to spend the day with their kids. This year, treat her to tea. You'll both love the time together and the fancy pastries.

Mother's Day Tea with Betsy Ross

At the Betsy Ross House, guests will be offered a variety of tea sandwiches, cookies and pastries provided by the City Tavern. Betsy Ross will be the hostess, serving fine teas at the historic setting.

During the Mother's Day event, enjoy a special after-hours tour of the Betsy Ross House, learn about 18th-century tea etiquette, see rarely displayed artifacts from the House's collection and enjoy a special presentation by Betsy Ross in the country's only working 18th-century upholstery shop.

Reservations are required.
