A 40-year-old tow truck driver is in critical condition after being shot multiple times during an attempted robbery in Southwest Philadelphia on Monday night, police said.
The man had just gotten off work around 11 p.m. and parked his truck when he was approached by four young males wearing dark clothing on the 2100 block of South 72nd Street, police said.

At least four shots were fired at the truck driver after the males tried to rob him, police told 6ABC. He was shot three times in the arm, leg and stomach.
The man was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, FOX29 reported.
The young males fled the scene on foot, NBC10 reported. None of them have been identified or arrested. An investigation remains ongoing.
Chief Inspector Scott Small told 6ABC that surveillance footage of the area is available to aid the police.
