U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., just wanted to let his constituents know that his offices across the state were closed Tuesday because of inclement conditions, but his public service message didn't go over well.

Toomey sent out a tweet with the info around 9 a.m. Tuesday, just as Pennsylvania was getting slammed by snow and sleet from Winter Storm Stella.
"Due to bad weather, my offices in Philly, Allentown, Scranton, & Harrisburg are closed today," he posted. "Stay safe if you're venturing out."
Pennsylvania's junior Republican senator has been under fire as of late, his critics complaining he's been unresponsive to his constituents' calls, emails and demonstrations requesting Toomey hold town hall meetings.
So far, Toomey has responded with a teleconference and a Q&A through Facebook live hosted by CBS3 – neither of which have satisfied his detractors. Tuesday's closures prompted some to ask, "What's the difference?"
Though, there were a few well wishes mixed in with the backlash.
Toomey relocated his Philadelphia office from Center City to Old City in February. A spokesperson did not immediately return a request for comment Tuesday.
