Still in the midst of rebuilding, the Sixers are not returning to the NBA Finals anytime soon. While the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers duke it out in this year's championship round, Philly fans are putting their hopes in the development of promising young talents like Joel Embiid and Nerlens Noel while also crossing their fingers that Sam Hinkie finds a stud with the third pick in this year's draft.
Although Sixers fans currently have their eyes on the future, today is a good day to take a look at the past. Because on June 6, 2001, Allen Iverson had a career-defining moment.
In game one of that year's NBA Finals, Iverson had 48 points in an upset victory in overtime over the Lakers. Most only remember two of those points, as Iverson drained a step-back jumper over Lakers guard Tyronn Lue, who had frustrated him defensively throughout the later half of the game.

The Sixers went on to lose the finals in five games, but "The Step Over" continues to live on in team lore.
