Over the last month, we talked a whole heck of a lot about Tim Tebow in Philadelphia. As it turned out, the winner of the much bandied about third-string quarterback competition between Tebow and Matt Barkley was… Stephen Morris, who the Eagles claimed off waivers from the Jacksonville Jaguars of all places.
The good news is for Tebow and Barkley is that they both quickly found work elsewhere. Barkley was traded to the Arizona Cardinals for a conditional seventh-round pick and Tebow is going back to work on television. He announced his plans on Twitter and via an ESPN press release:
Tim Tebow returns to ESPN this Saturday, Sept. 12, as an SEC Network college football analyst. Tebow resumes his role on the network's two-hour traveling pregame show, SEC Nation. The show is live from Nashville, on the Vanderbilt campus, beginning at 10 a.m. ET (9 a.m. CT) prior to the Georgia at Vanderbilt football game.
Tebow will be back in the analyst chair next to Paul (or, as his callers refer to him, “PAWWWLLLL”) Finebaum and company. He will not play in the CFL, which is what Chip Kelly reportedly advised him to do.
On a personal note, if this is our last Tebow post for a while, I would like to echo my colleague’s sentiments:
