The numbers confirm it: #Tebowmania is in full swing.
Despite not playing a single game yet for the birds, and despite Sam Bradford expected to be the starting Quarterback come September (if he stay's healthy), Tebow's number #11 jersey is the most popular among Eagles signal callers.
Not only that, his jersey is actually the 8th most popular among league passers for the month of May, according to NFL.com, ranking 15th among all players.
- More Eagles
- Eagles ILBs Kiko Alonso, DeMeco Ryans, and Mychal Kendricks could all get on the field together
- LeSean McCoy says he's done talking about Chip Kelly
Tebow, of course, isn't expected to rank any higher than 3rd on the depth chart this year, and even that is a generous ceiling for his spot on the team. However his popularity seems to transcend his ability on the field, and that apparently hasn't changed during his short tenure here in Philly.
Also making the list is Eagles running back DeMarco Murray, who was the most popular jersey in his position and ranked 11th overall.
While he has also yet to play a game for Philly, Murray will at least be, barring his knees falling apart, the starter for week one. Murray was also the league's leading rusher last year for Dallas, while Tebow was out of the league, working as an analyst for ESPN.
It just goes to show that you should never underestimate the power of #Tebowmania.
