A SEPTA representative has said that three people - including a SEPTA bus driver - were hospitalized after a SEPTA bus and flatbed truck collided in Fox Chase on Monday.
According to Andrew Busch, SEPTA spokesperson, the crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. as a SEPTA bus exited a bus roundabout on the 7900 block of Oxford Ave. near Rhawn Street.
As the bus exited the roundabout, Busch said the bus and a flatbed tractor-trailer collided, but he was unsure how the incident occurred.
"We don't know anything about who caused it at this point," Busch said.
After the crash, both vehicles ended up on the sidewalk in front of businesses as a result of the incident. One of the vehicles reportedly struck a building, however, Busch said it wasn't the SEPTA bus.
"I don't think our bus made contact with the building," he said.
According to Busch, the driver and two unidentified passengers were taken to Aria Health Torresdale with what Busch said were non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, Busch said.
