While many love shopping for deals and new gadgets on Black Friday, spending the day in overcrowded stores and long lines isn't for everyone.
On Friday, Nov. 24, do something other than shopping. Below are fun things to do in Philly on Black Friday, from an all-day comedy marathon to a "Game of Thrones" party.
Challenge friends in a game of ping-pong at SPiN, located in the basement of the WeWork offices near 15th and Walnut streets.
The massive space has Olympic-style ping-pong tables, lounge space all surrounding a center, horseshoe-shaped bar. Happy hour is from 5-7 p.m., or plan to go at 10 p.m. for Player's Night.
On Friday nights, guests can compete for swag, challenge SPiN pros and join interactive social games.
Class is first come, first serve. Remember to bring a mat. SWEAT provides the wine.
In addition to the extended list of beers on tap, Alla Spina will feature beer-inspired food specials. Try the Bourbon County beef and barley soup with house-made bread or the braised pork nachos.
Attendees to the beer fest also will have a chance to win a bottle of Bourbon County '15 Rare and '14 Proprietors Stout.
Visitors can add a note to the "Wall of Thanks," learn the surprising history of shopping in early America, take gallery tours and try on Revolutionary-inspired clothing.
Philly Improv Theater's fourth annual 40-hour-long comedy show begins at 9 a.m. on Black Friday. Watch hours of stand up, improv and sketch comedy for $12.
The all-access tickets will go on sale the morning of the show online, but you can also pay at the door.
The theater is located at 2030 Sansom St.
Visitors can go on a scavenger hunt that pairs "Game of Thrones" quotes with works of art, sketch armor and weapons in the galleries, watch fencing and more.
Those who dress up like Jon Snow, Daenerys, Jamie or any other "Game of Thrones" character will receive $5 off admission at the door.
