Ready for the weekend, Philly?
Saturday and Sunday are packed with things to do, from a party at Reading Terminal Market to a cake-off benefitting a children's charity. Plus, there's an Oscars viewing party, Barcade is hosting Family Day and we know where to find the ultimate bloody mary bar.
We have all the details below. Time to make plans.
"Things Fall Apart" was released on Feb. 23, 1999. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Ill Doots will perform the album with special guests Chill Moody and Hardwork Movement.
Here's a unique way to spend an afternoon together. Take the kids to play Ms. Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Asteroids, Centipede and more.
This huge party at Reading Terminal Market will take place Saturday evening. There will be delicious food from market merchants and four open bars with cocktails, beer and wine, plus six live bands, a silent auction and casino games.
If you only care about the fashion at the Oscars this year, hang with like-minded individuals Sunday night. Enjoy happy hour specials from 6 to 8 p.m., while watching ABC's red carpet coverage on the bar's TVs.
Get dressed up, walk the red carpet and settle in to watch the award show in the Philadelphia Film Center's movie theater. The evening will include cocktails, light bites and movie snacks.
Ah, the bloody mary. It's salty. It's spicy. It's oh-so-good.
Square 1682 in Center City is doing something special Sunday and offering a bloody mary bar where you can add mini doughnuts, pickles, chicken sausage and more to your cocktail.
Twenty-five of the area's best pastry chefs will compete in a cake-off at the Loews Hotel’s Millennium Ballroom on Sunday. You get to taste all the cakes and help Variety - The Children's Charity at the same time. It's a win-win.
OK, so East Passyunk Restaurant Week doesn't start until Monday, but you can begin making plans today.
Participants include Izumi, Townsend, Noord, Barcelona, Perla, Brigantessa, Stogie Joe's, Bing Bing Dim Sum, Le Virtu and many more.
