As the “Five Guys vs. Shake Shack” debate rages on, the latter scored a major blow in the Philadelphia market.
The in-game experience at Flyers and Sixers games just got a little bit better, as Shake Shack is opening up a stand behind section 115 at Wells Fargo Center for all games, starting with the Flyers home opener on Thursday night.
According to Philly.com, this will be the first NBA/NHL arena that the burger chain will be partnering with. Here is a look at what your options are on the limited menu:
Limited menu includes the ShackBurger, a single or double cheeseburger topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce; 'Shroom Burger, a fried portobello mushroom filled with melted Muenster and Cheddar cheeses, topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce; Shack Stack, which includes both a cheeseburger and 'Shroom Burger topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce; fries; hot dogs; milkshakes; and a dessert known as the Brotherly Love Crunch (vanilla custard with malt powder, Valrhona crunchies, and chocolate toffee).
Started in Manhattan, Shake Shack has operated a “wildly-popular in-stadium outpost” (per the Wall Street Journal) at Citi Field since 2009. There has also been one at Nationals Park since 2011. Shake Shack has Philadelphia area locations in Center City, University City, and King of Prussia.
