The Rounds, a Philly-born sustainable delivery startup, is celebrating one year in business with a public party at The Garden at Cherry Street Pier.
‘The Rounds First Birthday Bash’ will be taking place on Thursday, June 30 from 7 to 9 p.m. The celebration will feature live music provided by Soundroom, games, free giveaways, tables for information of other local sustainable companies, and signature cocktails complimentary for Rounds members.
The idea for The Rounds, previously known as Mlkmn, was launched by two Wharton MBA students, Alexander Torrey and Byungwoo Ko, who were seeking a less wasteful and more convenient way to get the stuff they use everyday. The service delivers a wide variety of household essentials, personal care items, pantry staples, local goods, and pet and baby products to your door in reusable containers, with zero packaging waste. They deliver to Philadelphia households and buildings on a weekly basis. On their fleet of electric bikes, The Rounds delivery team will return to your door on your “refill day” to pick up your empty containers and swap them out for your next order.

Since their rebrand last June, The Rounds has expanded to three new cities (Washington DC, Atlanta, and Miami), brought on nearly 3,000 new members in Philadelphia alone, and added over 10 new local brands to their inventory. Each individual member using The Rounds can save up to 50 pounds of trash per year.
