On Monday evening, Temple University students, alumni, faculty and staff gathered at the Liacouras Center to try and break a rather tasty Guinness World Record: the most peanut butter and jelly sandwiches made in an hour.
The previous record had been set in Texas in June, with 39,303 being made and sent to charitable organizations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Temple shattered that record, according to the university's Twitter account, with 49,100 sandwiches made.

Fifteen food banks and shelters across the Philly region will be receiving the sandwiches.
