A suspect wanted in connection with the sexual assault and armed robbery of a female Temple University student last month has been arrested on an unrelated charge, CBSPhilly reports.
The man, who has not been officially identified, was taken into police custody for a probation violation. While he has not been charged with the sexual assault of the victim, he is a person-of-interest in the assault, which remains under investigation.
On Sept. 28, authorities say an unknown black male sexually assaulted a 20-year-old female victim at gunpoint on the 1400 block of Carlisle St.
Police last week released surveillance video of a suspect boarding a southbound SEPTA subway train at the Broad and Erie Station before the incident. He was seen exiting the train at the Broad and Cecil B. Moore Station, a few blocks from where the assault occurred.
