A Temple University physics professor indicted for wire fraud for allegedly helping entities in China obtain advanced technology has pleaded not guilty, CBSPhilly reports.
Xiaoxing Xi, 47, appeared in court in Philadelphia Thursday to enter his not guilty plea. The U.S. Attorney's Office charged Xi, of Penn Valley, with four counts of wire fraud last month.

He was released on $100,000 bail but has surrendered his passport.
Prosecutors say Xi is a naturalized U.S. citizen, a native of the People’s Republic of China and an expert in the field of magnesium diboride thin film superconducting technology.
Xi will be represented by Washington lawyer Peter Zeidenberg, who vows that Xi will be exonerated. Zeidenberg successfully defended an Ohio woman in a Chinese spying case.
