The network's news division made the announcement Wednesday, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"Tamron is an exceptional journalist, we valued and enjoyed her work at Today and MSNBC and hoped that she would decide to stay," NBC News said in a statement. "We are disappointed that she has chosen to leave, but we wish her all the best."
Hall, who co-anchored the 9 a.m. hour of "Today" with Al Roker, appeared on both networks for the final time on Tuesday. Her contract was set to expire at the end of February.
"The last 10 years have been beyond anything I could have imagined, and I’m grateful," Hall said in a statement. "I’m also very excited about the next chapter. To all my great colleagues, I will miss you and I will be rooting for you.”
A 1992 graduate of Temple's School of Mass Communications, Hall got her start as a reporter in her home state of Texas. She later spent 10 years at Chicago's WFLD before joining NBC, where she received both the Edward R. Murrow Award and an Emmy for her work on the 2010 special "The Inauguration of Barack Obama."
Hall's departure marks the latest in a series of exits from "Today," including co-hosts Natalie Morales, Willie Geist and Billy Bush, who was dismissed following the leak of an offensive video in which he appeared with then-presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Prior to joining "Today" in 2014, Hall co-hosted MSNBC's "The Big Picture" and launched two of her own shows, "NewsNation With Tamron Hall" and "Deadline Crime With Tamron Hall." Investigation Discovery now airs Hall's "Deadline: Crime" and more recently, she produced a network special, "Guns on Campus: Tamron Hall investigates."
Roker will continue in the 9 a.m. "Today" slot pending the arrival of Kelly, who is set to host one of the show's morning time slots.
