Temple University president Neil Theobold announced that Deputy Athletic Director Patrick Kraft would be chosen as the school's new Athletic Director Monday.
According to Temple University Athletics, Kraft joined Temple in 2013 as Deputy Director and also served as sport administrator for the school's football team.
Kevin Clark, who proceeded Kraft and worked with the new director as well as Theobold at Indiana University , has been nominated to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
During Clark's tenure as AD, he oversaw several important, and at times controversial, decisions and events regarding the university's athletics program. Most notably, the decision to cut seven sports programs, a list that was later cut to five after two were reinstated, was made at Clark's recommendation.
According to The Temple News, the school also acquired the William Penn High School property, which will be repurposed for athletic facilities, and underwent a Title IX investigation during Clark's time as director.
The Temple News also reports that Clark will oversee operations across the university in his new role, and will still have a hand in athletics regarding operations and facilities.
