Temple accounting students to help Philadelphia residents file taxes for free

Appointments can be scheduled online

Accounting students from Temple University’s Fox School of Business are volunteering their time and skills to assist qualifying Philadelphians in filing their annual income tax returns for free.

Temple’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) is an annual program that has been going on for the past decade and is currently underway for this year, with appointments open on Saturdays through April 8. The deadline to file taxes is April 18.

To qualify for the free help, clients must live in the city and their annual household income can not exceed $54,000, whether filing independently or jointly.

In addition, clients are ineligible for the program if they own rental property or a business.
