Police have arrested and charged a 16-year-old suspect in the fatal stabbing of a 14-year-old boy near West Philadelphia High School on Friday night.
ABC 6 reports the suspect is facing a homicide charge along with charges of aggravated and simple assault, possession of an instrument of crime, and reckless endangerment of another person.
The stabbing happened at 46th and Market streets on Friday around 4 p.m., when the victim and his brother were riding their bicycles home from school. The unidentified victim, who was reportedly stabbed in the chest, was rushed to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and has died.
Initial reports suggested an argument between the students that took place during the school day later escalated, resulting in the attack.
