One teen is dead and two people are injured after a crash along Cheltenham Avenue.

A crash along Cheltenham Avenue left one young girl dead and two injured Friday morning, NBC10 reports.

Cheltenham Avenue was closed on the Philadelphia side where the road goes under Old York Road in the Oak Lane section of the city after a black Ford Mustang with white racing stripes and a tan minivan collided around 8:15 a.m.

According to NBC10:

An initial investigation revealed the Mustang was headed westbound on Cheltenham Avenue when it struck a wall and stopped in the path of oncoming traffic. The van then slammed into the car in the eastbound (Philly side) of the road.

Philadelphia police say a young girl who was riding in the Mustang was rushed to Einstein Medical Center, where she died a short time later.

The 40-year-old female driver of the minivan also was rushed to Einstein with neck and back pain. She is in stable condition. The driver of the Mustang, a 35-year-old woman, was taken to Einstein with undisclosed injuries.
