Suspects sought in brutal gas station beating

Police are searching for suspects involved in the brutal beating of a man outside of a gas station in Olney.

A 51-year-old man is in critical condition after being beaten outside a gas station in the Olney neighborhood of Philadelphia. 

Surveillance video of the attack that occurred April 7 on the 5500 block of North 5th Street shows a group of people exiting a minivan and brutally attacking the man with a hammer, mace, and a piece of wood.

Police are currently searching for additional suspects involved in the incident after two women have already been arrested. Shareena Joachim and Aleathea Gillard were discovered by police inside a silver Honda Oddysey in the parking lot of Einstein Hospital shortly after the incident occurred. 

The two women Gillard and Joachim have been arrested and charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and possessing instruments of crime.

According to 6 ABC, the beating occurred after a 10-year-old boy told his mother he got in to an argument with the man over pumping gas for spare change. While police say there is no video evidence of the man harming the boy, the mother, Gillard, and a group of people returned to the gas station. In the video, one of the suspects grabs a young boy and pulls him over to look at the aftermath of the incident before the group gets back in the vehicle and drives away.
