Suspects attack 70-year-old man in his home with metal baton, police say

Police are looking to identify and locate the suspects wanted in connection with an aggravated assault in Somerton.

Police are seeking the public's help in finding two suspects wanted in connection with an aggravated assault in Somerton.

In surveillance video released by police Tuesday, two unknown males can be seen knocking on the door of a residence on the 800 block of Welton St. on Oct. 6 at 9:30 p.m.

When a 70-year-old man answers the door, the suspects push him inside the residence, where they then strike him over his head with a metal ASP baton, according to police. The two then flee in an unknown direction.

The victim was transported to Aria Torresdale Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition with a cracked skull, heavy brain bleeding and multiple staples to the left side of his head, police said.


The suspects are described as follows:

Suspect No. 1: White male, 6 feet tall, 230 pounds, mid-30s, beard, wearing a light-colored knit hat, light-colored hooded jacket, blue jeans and armed with a dark-colored ASP baton.
Suspect No. 2:
 White male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 200 pounds, 55 years old, dark hair, wearing a light-colored zip-up jacket and blue jeans.
