Despite the warm weather and the happy energy, restaurants tend to struggle over the summer as residents head down the shore. Those who stay near the city will be reaping all the benefits this year during two upcoming restaurant weeks, one in South Jersey and one in Center City.
The 2nd Annual PREIT South Jersey Restaurant Week will be held Sunday, July 12, through Sunday, July 19. PREIT stands for the Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust; the company owns the Cherry Hill and Moorestown malls and Voorhees Town Center, and thus, the restaurants featured during this promotion are from those locations.
Restaurants like Bobby's Burger Palace, Maggiano's Little Italy, Distrito, Osteria and Catelli Duo will participate. Each will have a special menu, special pricing or both during the promotional week.
Center City Restaurant Week, which occurs twice a year, traditionally in January and September, has moved its second occurrence to August this year. (We can thank a close-together lineup of holidays and the pope's visit for that.) It will now run Sunday, Aug. 2, through Friday, Aug. 7 and Sunday, Aug. 9 through Friday, Aug. 14.
First-timers Franky Bradley's, Bud & Marilyn's, Vesper and La Peg will all be participating in the deal. Dinners go for $35 for three courses and lunches are $20 for three courses. Of course, dozens of restaurants will be participating in total, and reservations go fast. Better book your table now.
