A stray bullet hit a 16-year-old girl in the thigh on Thursday night while she was outside talking with her sister, reports NBC 10.
The teenage girl was sitting with her 19-year-old sister outside their home on West Luzerne Street near North 7th Street in the Hunting Park neighborhood around 11:30 p.m. when shots rang out. She got hit in the left thigh, and was taken to Temple University Hospital.
She is in stable condition and it does not appear that she was purposefully targeted.
In an unrelated incident, but at around the same time, an 18-year-old man was shot in the leg in the Point Breeze neighborhood, around South 16th Street and Wharton Street. He is in stable condition.
Police are hoping that surveillance video from nearby homes and businesses will help them to find the shooters in these incidents.
