South Jersey sports museum officially opens to the public

Head to DePace Museum for a treasure trove of sports memorabilia

Nestled in what use to be a bank in Collingwood, New Jersey, sports fans can find a family sports collection valued at $30 million. The treasure trove at DePace Museum will finally, officially open to the public at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 12.

To help cut the ribbon during the grand opening ceremony, several former Flyers players are expected to be on hand, including Hockey Hall of Famer Bernie Parent, Bob Kelly, Brian Propp and Dave Schultz.

After the ribbon cutting, guests will be able to visit the museum on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from noon to 5 p.m. and on Thursdays through Saturdays from noon to 9 p.m.

The collection that awaits visitors is full of rare and one-of-a-kind items from baseball, football, basketball, hockey, boxing and track & field.

With such an extensive sports collection, the museum plans to rotate displays on a regular basis and soon including interactive exhibits.

To visit DePace Museum, adult guests are asked to pay a donation of $10 or more, while kids are free.
